My name is Brionnae (bree-aw-nuh), and I am a blogger and content creator, but mainly, a storyteller. I started this site largely based on a quote I originally heard in the movie Sister Act 2. Whoopi Goldberg -- as Delores VanCartier -- quotes author Rainer Maria Rilke to a young Lauryn Hill "If you wake you in the morning and you can't think of anything but writing first...then you are a writer".
When I was a kid (8-12) I watched Oprah almost every day after school. I cannot convey to people how much I wanted to be on the Oprah show. The first piece of writing I brought home was enough to assure me someday I would read my writings to Oprah.
Over the years that ambition has changed but not in the sense that I have written Oprah off -- don't rain on my parade -- but the purpose of my writing and this space now is:
Escape ~ to provide an escape through humour and story
Entertain ~ my favourite task in life is to make others happy
Elevate ~ curating this space to facilitate my own growth, but to be able to generate a community of conversation and transparency.
